While group lessons are an effective and economical way to begin your entry into the world of figure skating, mastery of the sport is accomplished through lessons with a professional coach. Whether you just want more individualized instruction or intend to start testing and competing, working with the right private skating coach for you is the key to your skating success. Lisa Kriley
Lisa is a Triple Gold Medalist in figure skating, a PSA-rated coach, and an Advanced Level Hockey Coach with USA Hockey. Coaching since 1991, she has worked with Olympic, National, Sectional, Junior National, and Regional competitors, as well as recreational skaters of all ages. Lisa specializes in developing technically sound, consistent skaters through instruction in jumps, spins, power skating, moves in the field, choreography, and comprehensive off-ice training.
Throughout her career, she has studied with Olympic, World, and NHL power skating coaches and trained at premier skating academies across the United States. She is a member of the Professional Skaters Association (PSA), U.S. Figure Skating, and the Ice Skating Institute (ISI).
Oliver Pekar
Oliver is a former Czechoslovakian Men's National Champion and a competitor at the 1990 World Figure Skating Championships in ice dance. An internationally recognized coach, he has trained National and World-level champion athletes in singles, pairs, and ice dance. Oliver specializes in jump technique (from singles through quads), edges, spins, and Moves in the Field.
In addition to his coaching career, he performed professionally with Holiday on Ice, cruise ship productions, and the Sun Valley Ice Show. He is a member of the PSA and U.S. Figure Skating.
Cassie Gutierrez
Cassie Gurierrez has been coaching figure skating since 2010 and brings 13 years of competitive skating experience. She specializes in figure skating, hockey skating, and synchronized skating, working with skaters of all ages and skill levels.
A certified U.S. Figure Skating coach and Certified Group Coach, Cassie also serves as the Oval Learn to Skate Director and has competed at the U.S. Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships in 2014 and 2025. She is a member of PSA and U.S. Figure Skating.
Alina Ivanova
Alina brings over 22 years of experience in the figure skating industry, including 12 years as a competitive skater in Russia. Throughout her career, she trained under renowned coaches, including Olympic champion Irina Rodnina. Alina earned a degree in Physical Education, Sport, Youth, and Tourism from the Russian State University before performing professionally for seven years—five years with Disney On Ice and two years with the Russian Circus on Ice.
She specializes in jumps, spins, power skating, off-ice training, and choreography, and is a member of both the PSA and U.S. Figure Skating.
Amy Licata (Berglund)
Amy is a quadruple USFS gold medalist in pairs, freestyle, moves in the field, and solo free dance. Originally from Minnesota, she has traveled the world as a professional show skater, performing in a wide range of productions since 2010. With 18 years of coaching experience, she specializes in technical development, performance artistry, and creative choreography, incorporating unique elements such as aerial arts, fire performance, and hula hoops into her instruction.
Since 2010, Amy has performed professionally in ice shows around the world. She also holds a Master of Arts in Arts and Culture Management from the University of Denver, with a focus on arts outreach and advocacy. Amy currently serves as the Head Coach of the University of Utah Figure Skating Team for the 2025–2026 season.
Shannon Norris
Shannon teaches beginning level students of all ages. She is a member of the PSA and U.S. Figure Skating.
Katrina Lee
Katrina is a figure skating coach in the Salt Lake City area. She is a member of PSA and U.S. Figure Skating.
Karen Stone
Karen is primarily an off-ice figure skating coach. She is a member of PSA and U.S. Figure Skating.
